In this blog post, we reveal our advice when it comes to choosing the right mobility scooter for you. Everyone has different needs, which is why we supply a variety of scooters that offer different features.

1. Transportable Scooters

Lightweight, transportable scooters are easy to fold or dismantle and place in your car, making life easier when you want to travel further afield! Easy to use and with speeds of up to 4mph, optional suspension, and solid or air tyres, these mobility scooters also have either a swivel or folding seat, and comfortable controls making for easy manoeuvrability.

Arguably the most convenient type of scooter, they have smaller batteries and narrow frames, making them ideal for use inside shops! View our range of transportable scooters here.

2. Pavement Scooters

Pavement scooters are a bit more robust and are perfect for short trips to the shops or visiting local areas. They can reach up to 4mph and most have adjustable seats to suit your needs. Our S400 scooter, for example, has options to adjust the extra padded seat height, depth and recline and suspension for extra comfort. Plus, most pavement scooters have a delta tiller bar, which makes a much more relaxed steering position for those with limited mobility in their arms and hands.

3. Road Scooters

Road scooters are great for longer distances and can reach up to 8mph. If you’re likely to be travelling more than to the local shops and back, a road scooter may be a better fit for you; the distance a road scooter can travel before needing to recharge is further than a pavement scooter.

As the most powerful scooter, road scooters have bigger motors and have features such as indicators, lights, suspension and mirrors. With adjustable seats and more legroom, road scooters are comfortable with greater ground clearance with larger tyres that can handle more difficult road surfaces.
